Homemade taco seasoning is so easy to make and allows you to easily control the spice level to your family's preference. This specific taco seasoning recipe isn’t very spicy, making it great for kids of all ages. This is one of my family's favorite quick go-to dinner recipes, ready in less than 20 minutes.

Homemade Taco Seasoning Ingredients:
🌮1 tablespoon chili powder
🌮1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
🌮1/2 teaspoon onion powder
🌮1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
🌮1/2 teaspoon paprika
🌮1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
🌮1/2 teaspoon salt
🌮1/4 teaspoon of ground black pepper
🌮1/8 teaspoon ground turmericÂ
🌮1 pound ground beef, I used grass-fed
🌮1/3 cup filtered water
Instructions:
-
In a small bowl mix all the spices. Set it aside.
-
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook it by stirring and breaking it apart into small pieces. Cook the beef until it is completely cooked through. Drain and discard any excess grease.
-
Add the homemade taco seasoning and stir. Allow to toast for about a minute.
-
Add 1/3 cup of filtered water and stir to combine. Bring to a simmer and cook until the moisture absorbs into the meat, about a minute.
-
Serve with desired toppings. We served with sour cream, broken-up taco shells, shredded cheese, cabbage, tomatoes, and avocados.Â
Note: I like to use store-bought taco shells. Don’t forget to toast the taco shells in the oven before using. It tastes so much better when it’s toasted.
