My kids love applesauce. They love eating it on its own, with pancakes, waffles, or mixed into baked goods. It’s easy to make and a great way to use up any extra apples you might have.
Servings: about 2 cups
Ingredients:
🍎 2 pounds apples, I like to use organic Gala apples
🍎 1/4 cup filtered water
🍎 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
How to Make Homemade Applesauce:
🍎 Wash, peel, and core the apples.
🍎 Cut the apples into chunks and place them in a pot.
🍎 Add the water and lemon juice. Stir and cover it with a lid.
🍎 Allow it to cook (stirring frequently) over medium-low heat until the apples are soft, about 15-20 minutes.
🍎 Allow it to cool, place it in a blender and blend until it's pureed.
🍎 Serve or store the leftovers in an air-tight food-safe container in the refrigerator.
I served it with pancakes and strawberries.
