There is just something so warm and comforting about this classic dish.Ā This version can be made completely sugar-free or you can use a little bit of maple syrup to add some extra sweetness.Ā Everything is cooked in the oven, so it's as simple as prepping everything and popping it into the oven!

Suitable From: 6 monthsĀ + (omit maple syrup for under 1ās)Ā
Ingredients:
š 6 red apples (any you prefer will work)
š 1 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
š 2 tsps Ceylon cinnamonĀ
š 1/2 tsp nutmegĀ
š 1 tsp all spiceĀ
š 1/3 cup waterĀ
For theĀ topping:Ā
š 1 cup rolled oats
š 1/2 cup almond flour | orĀ substitute 1/2 cup oats or 1/4 cup crushed seeds
š 1 heaped tsp cinnamonĀ
š 1/4 cup melted butter | orĀ substitute 1/4 cup meltedĀ coconut oilĀ
š 2 tbsps mapleĀ syrup (optional)
Instructions:
1.Ā Ā Ā Ā Preheat your oven to 350°F/180°C.Ā
2.Ā Ā Ā Peel and cut the apples into small cubes. Add these to an oven proof dish.
3.Ā Ā Pour in the lemon juice and spices. Mixing well to ensure that the apples are well coated.
4.Ā Ā Pour over the water and mix again.Ā
5.Ā Ā Ā In a bowl, combine the topping ingredients.
6.Ā Ā Ā Sprinkle the topping over the apples.
7.Ā Ā Ā Bake for 40 minutes, until golden on the top.Ā
8.Ā Ā Ā Store in an airtight container for 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.Ā
