There is just something so warm and comforting about this classic dish.ย This version can be made completely sugar-free or you can use a little bit of maple syrup to add some extra sweetness.ย Everything is cooked in the oven, so it's as simple as prepping everything and popping it into the oven!

Suitable From: 6 monthsย + (omit maple syrup for under 1โs)ย
Ingredients:
๐ 6 red apples (any you prefer will work)
๐ 1 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
๐ 2 tsps Ceylon cinnamonย
๐ 1/2 tsp nutmegย
๐ 1 tsp all spiceย
๐ 1/3 cup waterย
For theย topping:ย
๐ 1 cup rolled oats
๐ 1/2 cup almond flour | orย substitute 1/2 cup oats or 1/4 cup crushed seeds
๐ 1 heaped tsp cinnamonย
๐ 1/4 cup melted butter | orย substitute 1/4 cup meltedย coconut oilย
๐ 2 tbsps mapleย syrup (optional)
Instructions:
1.ย ย ย ย Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF/180ยฐC.ย
2.ย ย ย Peel and cut the apples into small cubes. Add these to an oven proof dish.
3.ย ย Pour in the lemon juice and spices. Mixing well to ensure that the apples are well coated.
4.ย ย Pour over the water and mix again.ย
5.ย ย ย In a bowl, combine the topping ingredients.
6.ย ย ย Sprinkle the topping over the apples.
7.ย ย ย Bake for 40 minutes, until golden on the top.ย
8.ย ย ย Store in an airtight container for 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.ย
