❤️ Heart-Shaped Chicken Pizza Sandwiches

This recipe is a great way to help use up any leftover chicken or quickly prepare a delicious meal for your family.

Note: When using a heart-shaped waffle maker, ensure the cookie cutter you use is about the same size as the waffle maker.

Ingredients: (makes one sandwich)

❤️ 2 pieces of sliced bread

❤️ 2 slices of provolone cheese

❤️ pizza sauce

❤️ small diced basil

❤️ finely diced spinach

❤️ shredded cooked chicken

The process:

❤️ Grab 2 pieces of bread (I used organic sprouted wheat bread).

❤️ Since I’m using a heart-shaped waffle maker, I used a heart-shaped cookie cutter about the same size as my waffle maker. This way, my sandwich would fit inside the waffle maker.

❤️ Use the cookie cutter to cut the bread and the cheese.

To build the sandwich:

❤️ Place the bread on your work surface and add the cheese. Spread some pizza sauce and add the diced basil, finely diced spinach, and the shredded cooked chicken. Place another piece of cheese on top of the chicken. Finally, top it with another piece of bread.

❤️ Spray both sides with avocado oil

❤️ Carefully place the sandwich in the preheated waffle maker, while slowly pushing the waffle maker down with a tong or with oven mittens to help compress it a bit.

❤️ I also placed a tong on the other end of the sandwich to prevent the ingredients from being pushed out.

❤️ Let it grill until the cheese has melted.

❤️ Carefully remove the sandwich and allow it to cool
