You often hear parents discussing which style of cloth diapers they prefer, and unless you know the lingo, it can be confusing! Why so many options? Think of cloth diapers like jeans – there are several styles, fabrics and features to fit your preferences.

Bumkins offers two "integrated diaper systems" which provide absorbency and a waterproof diaper cover built into one piece. Our Snap-In-One Diapers or our Stuff-it Diapers have the absorbent diaper piece snapped into place or it’s removable for faster drying time. They also differ in what kind of fabric is against Baby’s skin.

Our two-piece diaper systems have two separate parts: the absorbent Fitted or Contour diaper insert, and the waterproof Diaper Cover. This allows parents to reuse the cover several times, replacing the absorbent diaper insert as needed.

Snap-In-One Diaper

This integrated diaper system features a diaper and a protective, waterproof cover that functions together as one unit. Our Snap-In-One Diaper works exactly like it sounds - the diaper is one piece, all together. Super soft cotton terry lines the inside, with a waterproof shell outside. These diapers are similar to disposables in the application, meaning they go onto baby in one simple step - and they are washed all together.

Why we love them:

  • Easy to use and most convenient; most similar to disposable diapers.
  • 100% cotton interior offers deluxe comfort.
  • Adjustable in both the hip and waist for best fit and leak protection.

  • Pocket Diaper
    Stuff-it Diapers

Our Stuff-it pocket style diaper features a stay-dry wicking fleece interior fabric, and two adjustable, removable absorbent inserts for quick laundering. One or two absorbent inserts (as needed) go inside the pocket opening inside the diaper. This means that you have to stuff your absorbent insert inside of the pocket of your diaper after each wash. This keeps the surface easier to clean if soiled.

    Why we love them:

  • Slightly more economical than Snap-In-Ones.
  • Absorbency is easily adjusted with inserts.
  • Can be more trim fitting for smaller babies and newborns.

  • Diaper Cover

    Diaper Covers

This two-piece diapering system is one part absorbent Fitted or Contour diaper, another part waterproof diaper cover. These must be used together to create your diaper. This system allows parents to reuse the cover several times, replacing the absorbent diaper portion as needed.

    Why we love them:

  • Generally more economical
  • Quick drying time.
  • Versatile, as covers can be used with diaper-service prefolds, fitted diapers, contours or flat diapers.

  • Contour Diaper Insert

    Contour Diaper Soakers

Contours are specifically designed to fit most brands of cloth diaper covers. Made of 100% cotton velour exterior, they provide a soft, luxurious feel and optimum absorbency with two interior layers of microfiber terry. Contour Soakers also feature an opening to add extra absorbency, if needed. These are a great diaper system for newborns, but they can be used all the way to potty training! These are part of a two-piece diaper system and require a diaper cover. Sized in newborn (to fit newborn covers) and one-size. Newborn contours can be used as extra inserts in larger diapers.

    Why we love them:

  • Easiest cloth diapering option for newborns
  • Modern form of prefolds - economical, simple, and easier
  • Can adjust absorbency by adding additional inserts into the contour pocket

  • Fitted Diaper
    Fitted Cloth Diapers

Fitted Cloth Diapers are absorbent, soft, and easy to use. They feature snap closures to allow for a perfect fit on baby to prevent leaks. Fitted diapers are very absorbent, and many parents use them for overnight leaking solutions. These are a two-piece diaper system and require a diaper cover.

    Why we love them:

  • More absorbent
  • Great for overnight
  • Adjustable fit
